Johnny S. Ramirez

Johnny S. Ramirez

President | Director of Operations

Johnny is a passionate, motivated construction professional with over 25 years of extensive knowledge and experience in all facets within the residential and commercial construction industry.

Johnny is a graduate of The University of Hawaii, where he earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration (BBA). He is a veteran who survived (2) wars and served his country for 12 years in the United States Navy.

Prior to establishing J&L Builders, Johnny worked for one of the largest Hotel Chains in the world, (Marriott International, Inc.) serving as Construction Manager for the Western Pacific region. During this time, Johnny managed and oversaw the construction of over 30 hotels worldwide.

This experience has provided Johnny with the necessary tools to lead J&L Builders in a forward direction within the Construction Industry. Johnny has led all phases of multi-million-dollar construction in various sectors such as including infrastructure, higher education, restaurant, grocery, and retail projects for both public and private sector clients.

Johnny is a member of the Texas Association of Builders, National Association of Home Builders, Hill Country Builders Association, Burnet Chamber of Commerce, Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau. He is also a huge supporter and donor to The Wounded Warrior Program & St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Outside of work Johnny enjoys being outdoors and traveling with his lovely wife, Lori.. Johnny is the proud father of a son that is currently serving his country in the United States Navy and a daughter attending the University of Texas Tech. He can find peace and happiness on either the beach or snow-capped mountains.

Phillip Hernandez

Project Manager

Phillip Hernandez is a Project Manager driving developments in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. With an extensive background in product manufacturing, Phillip has led several multimillion-dollar projects and contributed to one of the most groundbreaking innovations in the seismic survey industry—the Z NODAL system at Fairfield Industries in the 2000s. His diverse management experience across industries brings a valuable skill set to our team.

Outside of work, Phillip enjoys playing guitar, creating video content, barbecuing, and, most importantly, spending time with his family.

Ruben Tristan

Construction Superintendent

Ruben Tristan, a native of the Rio Grande Valley, brings over a decade of experience in construction management and workforce development. After graduating, Ruben began his career with a local production builder, where he successfully managed over 100 builds within a 24-month timeframe.

Ruben has a proven track record of enhancing construction operations, optimizing workforce assignments, and driving efficiency. His expertise includes implementing rigorous safety and quality standards, excelling in cost control, and ensuring on-time project delivery. By evaluating individual skills, Ruben has streamlined personnel assignments, resulting in increased project delivery efficiency.

Ruben also spearheaded the implementation of a robust workforce development program that significantly improved skilled labor retention. He modernized construction operations by introducing technology-driven processes, reducing operational costs, and enforcing strict safety protocols that decreased jobsite accidents by 30%. Additionally, his pioneering quality assurance initiatives enhanced project compliance and reduced unforeseen delays by 22%.

Office Manager

Camryn Haynes is the Office Manager of J&L Builders. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor Degree in Business.

With 5+ years of experience, Camryn Haynes is a dedicated construction office manager skilled in managing project documentation, and ensuring efficient communication across teams.

Ensuring project compliance, and fostering strong client relationships within the construction industry.

Camryn Haynes excels as an Office Manager, overseeing all administrative aspects of projects while maintaining high standards for documentation and reporting.

She is consistently contributing to successful project delivery.
